orientations : an air-ful of balloons (2001)

An installation of 2,500 balloons in the Glass Porch

The President's Young Talents Exhibition, Singapore Art Museum, Singapore, 2001

An installation in the Glass Porch of the Singapore Art Museum.  Prior to being converted into a museum, this building used to be a Catholic Boys School.  The statue of the patron saint, Saint Joseph, still stands solemnly in the Glass Porch, overlooking the main compound. During the exhibition, the installation of balloons instigated many frolics and balloon fights within the building, adding to its many layers of histories.

This installation was inspired by Martin Creed.
